BOMBAY SAPPHIRE ARTISAN SERIES
The BOMBAY SAPPHIRE® Artisan Series is a national search to find the next big name in visual arts. Created in partnership with Russell and Danny Simmons’ Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation, the Artisan Series offers underrepresented artists a national platform to showcase their work. During the search, thousands submit their artwork, and some will go on to exhibit at local galleries during the regional finals. Ultimately, twelve artists are chosen to showcase at the grand finale event during SCOPE Miami Beach, but just one will receive a grand prize solo exhibit at SCOPE NYC. The top three winning artists from the finale will receive a stipend to help create a mural in their hometown and give back to their communities. Last year’s top three artists from the grand finale are creating murals in their hometowns this summer, visit the calender to learn more.

The subtly twisting geometric shapes and evocative colors conveyed in Phillip Scott’s paintings are inspired by the ancient Japanese art of origami. Sharp lines and nostalgic folds reminiscent of paper airplanes and writing in fortunetellers provide a glimpse into P. Scott’s childhood craft. The images are playful in their seeming ability to contract, expand, and bend. They are also highly and inherently structural designs that blend iconic origami forms with urban street art and graffiti. Scott’s youthful occupation with the paper folding form began with instructional books that detailed folds and revealed the secrets of origami. His paintings incorporate some of these early instructional impressions and imagery. They also move beyond the conventional form of origami and explore a freedom of structure that exists outside the folds of paper.
Born April 1, 1976 as a Rochester New York Native, Phillip Scott Sinclair also known as P.Scott takes art and entrepreneurship to another level. A man constantly seeking a canvas for his artistic expression, with multi talents in the arts such as visual art, graphic, fashion, and sculptural design, Scott considers himself a Visual Art Designer. Influenced by artist such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Salvador Dali and his mothers love and desire for fashion, and interior design. With his art which he likes to call urban contemporary expressionism Scott plans to stay on the forefront of the art scene by always pushing the envelope, always finding a unique canvas, and by being creative with mind-blowing concepts that make you think beyond the surface.

As mother daughter, we share more than a special bond… but as artists we are forever boundless creatively, especially living in the color of every moment.
Who would have known that little girl would sit under my drafting table jumping up from underneath every time my pencils would drop, “Here Mommy!, I’m helping, right Mommy” would turn out to become be the person whose creative talents inspire my own. How I flourish each time I watch her capture a life moment through the portal of paint, and I realize how we’ve come full circle and find myself answering those same questions years later.
“Yes, you’ve helped Mommy. With every brush stroke, you gave me life… and a reason to paint the world anew.
